In this week’s food news, we have some restaurants to explore, including a (corny) new addition to look forward to. Plus, a weird liquor law loophole is making a rare wine cheaper than usual.
House of Corn
A sign for House of Corn has appeared where the Even Stevens on 200 S. used to be. We can only assume it’s the same corn-based establishment that once resided in Sandy. I’m excited to try their tacos! After all, Salt Lake City ranked number 11 for best taco city in the U.S.
Rare Wine
If you’re a wine connoisseur and have some extra dough to spare ($800-$2,200), Utah’s notoriously strict liquor laws are working to your advantage. Since we are a liquor-control state, the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services can offer super rare DRC wines from the Burgundy region of France, which are usually more than $6,000 a bottle, for much cheaper.
Aroon Thai
I have an ever-growing list of restaurants I’m dying to try, and Aroon Thai in Murray is one of them. I have my eyes on the tom kha, pineapple fried rice, and sweet roti.
What’s on your list of must-try restaurants?
