First Up: Mail-in Ballots Get Sent Today

A mail-in ballot for a Salt Lake City special bond election lies in front of a yellow envelope.

The Salt Lake County Clerk started sending out mail-in ballots today. Here’s what to know before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

  • Give it a couple of days, but if you didn’t get a mail-in ballot, you can still request one until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Make sure to use a black or blue pen to vote. [Vote Utah, Salt Lake County]
  • Not registered? Sign up in person, by mail, or online. The clerk must receive your registration by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23. If you miss the deadline, you can still register in person during early voting or on Election Day with two forms of identification. [Vote Utah]
  • Must know: Your ballot must be in the clerk's possession by 8 p.m. on Election Day for it to be counted. Postmarking by Election Day is no longer the law! If you’re a procrastinator, that means finding a dropbox near you. If you mail it back early, track it on Ballottrax. [Utah News Dispatch, Salt Lake County, Ballottrax]
  • Still have questions about your ballot? We can’t tell you who to vote for, but we can help answer questions. Email us!

Solvi x City Cast: Fragrance of the Month

Porcelain Fog by House of Brandt

October's Fragrance of the Month is Porcelain Fog by House of Brandt. It's built around the scent of a London Fog latte, and it smells exactly like the best kind of fall morning: frost on the windshield, bright leaves scattering your yard, and a warm mug of Earl Grey with steamed milk and a drizzle of honey. It has a smokiness like the first fireplace of the season and melts into a creamy vanilla-sandalwood glow that comforts all day. It's the fragrance for the days when you'd rather linger over your coffee than rush out the door.
