| | Turn in that ballot ASAP. (Ivana Martinez/City Cast Salt Lake) |
| Is your ballot still unopened on your kitchen counter? It's two weeks until Election Day. That's enough time to do your research, fill in some bubbles, and make sure that sealed envelope is received by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. These resources are your cheat sheet to casting an informed vote. | - For the most comprehensive candidate surveys, check out The Salt Lake Tribune's coverage. They reached out to more than 240 candidates up and down the ballot, asking about affordability, data centers, and more. [Salt Lake Tribune]
- Judges have you stumped? Reviews from the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) are a must read as you vote to keep someone on the bench or not. JPEC grades members of the judiciary based on factors like temperament and fairness. [JPEC, City Cast Salt Lake]
- Amendments A and B are the Legislature's pitches to change Utah's constitution. KUER has an explainer on what each one asks of voters, plus context from proponents and opponents of both. [KUER]
- A $128 million parks and recreation bond in Salt Lake County would pay for new projects, upgrades, and repairs. Our parks-loving podcast host, Ali Vallarta, talked about it, and the Tribune has an interactive graphic showing each city's projects. [@citycastslc on Instagram, Salt Lake Tribune]
- If you didn't get a by-mail ballot, you can request one as late as Oct. 27 or vote early starting today. [Salt Lake County Clerk]

| What Salt Lake's Talking About |
| Watch a Snowy Plover Movie | The National Audubon Society made a documentary about the snowy plover, a small, fluffy white bird, and the winner of Fat Bird Week. The 17-minute film, “Shoreline Sentinels,” calls attention to birds living at the Great Salt Lake. You can watch it online for free or attend an in-person screening on Tuesday, Nov. 17. [National Audubon Society] | | Utahns Want AI Reform | As artificial intelligence costs some Utahns their jobs, residents and policymakers at the Utah Solutions Forum are drafting recommendations for the state’s response. Proposals include a multilingual AI information hub, more oversight, and statewide AI literacy classes. [Salt Lake Tribune] | | Financial Literacy for Women | The Utah Women in the Money conference returns this Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Salt Palace Convention Center (and virtually!). The two days of sessions aim to empower women to achieve financial security, with panels like “Wills and Trusts Made Simple.” In-person tickets start at $15, and online sessions are free. [Utah Women in the Money] | | Sasquatch ‘Sightings’ in the Wasatch | Today is International Sasquatch Awareness Day, so we had to talk about the 70+ reported sightings in the Wasatch and Uinta ranges on our City Cast Salt Lake podcast.
