There are roughly 511 parks in Salt Lake County, and I'm visiting them all — from Herriman to SLC and everything in between. Follow along on my journey.
There is so much to love about Murray Park; my highlights don’t even account for its indoor and outdoor pools, brand new pickleball courts, and arboretum. It’s located at 202 E. Murray Park Ave., just 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City.

Fruit farmer Thayne Tagge once told me Salt Lake’s most legit farmers market is run by the Farm Bureau at Murray Park. He was right! Gorgeous produce without the fuss. I even picked up a yellow watermelon. Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those close to me know I am a single-issue public bathroom voter. Murray Park has so many restrooms, I peed twice. Salt Lake City wishes.

The Tale Trail
In a charming partnership with Murray City Library, reading is a walk in the park. Read an entire children’s book along this shady path.

Outdoor Ellipticals
My general take on public park fitness areas is: “Aspirational, but nobody is using that.” Until I saw what Murray had to offer. Catch me going bananas on this elliptical when the weather cools.
Fun fact: Murray Park was initially created to protect the city from flooding caused by the overflow of Little Cottonwood Creek.
