City Cast Salt Lake podcast host Ali Vallarta here. I am on a journey to visit all 511 parks in Salt Lake County, and I’m sharing stellar finds along the way.

Great news for your springtime daydreams: Pavilion reservations are open around the valley! Here are some ideas to make any celebration a day in the park — with a little bit of preplanning.

Crowd Pleasers

🎉 Adult birthday: The pavilion at Lindsey Gardens Park in the Avenues is extra charming when the flowers around it are blooming. Full day, $57.

♥️ Family reunion: Southwood Park Pavilion in Murray has a fireplace! Plus grills, bathrooms, and lots of grass for play. Half day, $55/full day, $75.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride picnic: Rice Pavilion at Liberty Park is minutes from the annual Pride parade route! Half day, $57.

🍖 Company barbecue:Mountview Park Pavilion in Cottonwood Heights will let you pull up a food truck while kids run in the splash pad or shoot hoops. Half day, $70/full day, $100.

🔔 Low-key wedding: The pavilion at Hidden Valley Park in Sandy is nestled in the foothills and looks chapel-esque. Half day, $42/full day, $66.

🐶 Dog birthday: Millrace Park Pavilion in Taylorsville is next to a beautiful off-leash dog park with an agility course. Full day, $75.

Don’t Buy, Rent!
