Where to Peep Fall Foliage in Salt Lake

00:00:00

As the leaves start to turn brilliant shades of orange, red, and gold, you know it’s time to peep! City Cast Salt Lake producer Ivana Martinez shares her favorite spots to take in the foliage, whether for an autumn activity or family photos.

📷 Where To Take Photos

Photo Tips

  • You never want to take photos when there is harsh light, so go early in the morning or later in the evening.
  • Bring sensible footwear. You don't want to be in the mountains or on trails in shoes that are uncomfortable. Wear sneakers and bring dress shoes for photos.
  • Charge batteries and make sure your camera lens is clean.
  • Be patient, take lots of photos, don’t take yourself too seriously, and be a little silly.

💕 Romantic Fall Picnic

Date Tips

  • On the way up to Provo Canyon, get a beverage at Juice ‘n Java.
  • Millcreek Canyon is a very scenic drive, put on an album.
  • Get yourself a little charcuterie board, bring a fun wine, if you're in the mood, or a nice cider.

🥾 Will Hike For Leaves

Hiking Tips

  • Dogs are welcome (must be on-leash on even days, but are allowed off-leash on trails on odd days).
  • Go early, and miss the crowds and hit up the Hogs Wallow Pub for lunch.
  • At Cascade Springs, the road is narrow. Be aware and maybe bring a smaller car.
Where’s your favorite place for peeping leaves?
