The new Vans Pro Skatepark and Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert bring pro skateboarders from around the world to our city. But skateboarding has long been a part of SLC culture.
Go Skate Utah, a Utah Skatepark Advocacy Group, is working to expand access to safe and clean skateparks in the valley. Remember when flooding turned an Orem skatepark into a swimming pool? They led efforts to get it cleaned up.
Go Skate Utah partners with city councils, parks and recreation departments, and local businesses to leverage support and secure funding for new skate parks and revamps.

Advocacy Opportunity
Today, Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., visit Sunnyside Park for a chance to speak with SLC council member Dan Dugan about park improvements. This is also a time to advocate for a new skatepark in Salt Lake City. Can’t attend? Take the survey.
🛹 What’s New?
Phase one of West Jordan’s Wheels Park is now open. This huge project caters to all skill levels and incorporates a street plaza and transition bowl.
Construction is underway at the new Taylorsville skatepark. No opening date yet, but features include 8,500 square feet of ramps, bowls, and ledges.
