March is the start of spring, when the days get longer and things are coming back to life. Here’s a guide to some of the best things to do and see this month.

Celebrate

Strength in Shades is hosting a Women’s History Month market highlighting 30+ BIPOC and woman-owned businesses on Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Salt Lake City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. with parking at the Gateway.

Gardening

The first day of Spring is March 19, whatever that means (maybe more snowstorms, maybe not?).

Wasatch Community Gardens is hosting gardening classes throughout the month, including seed starting, fruit tree pruning, growing berries, and sowing crops.

Take a Class

Make moss art with Thyme & Place at Laziz Kitchen on Sunday, March 24 from 2:30-4 p.m. Tickets ($54 each) sell out quickly, so reserve your spot!

Take a tasting class at Caputo’s to discover the delicacies of different regions of Spain. It’s on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. ($65 with wine, $40 without).

Holy Holy

The holy month of Ramadan likely starts around the evening of March 10 (Tbd, as it’s determined by a moon sighting!). Attend a unity iftar on March 15 at 6:30 p.m. to help raise money for families in need.

Easter is Sunday, March 31. Help volunteer at the annual Easter banquet by Rescue Mission of Salt Lake on Saturday, March 30.
