And just like that, it’s already April. In Salt Lake that means snowy days and sunny days, saying goodbye to winter farmers markets and hello to new restaurants, and clearing out your closet to make room for vintage finds. Here’s your guide to making the most of this month!
April showers also bring April flowers, and where better to enjoy them than the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. From April 9 to May 17, Ashton Gardens will bloom with over 900,000 flowers, including 400,000 magnificent tulips. The festival offers a variety of different classes like yoga in the garden, flower pressing, and watercolor painting. Stay tuned for the end of May, when the tulip bulbs are sold to the public!

A new neighborhood pizza place, Cosmica. (Cosmica)
Salt Lake City’s hottest new pizza restaurant, Cosmica, just opened in the Ballpark neighborhood. They’re slinging pizza, pasta, and natural wine — arguably, the trifecta we need at this time of year.
Another month, another social club — except this one’s for the introverts! Bookish is like a readathon for adults. This month’s event is on April 22 at Fisher Brewing. Bring your current read, enjoy craft beers, and listen to lofi beats by local band BiiG BRTHR.
If you’ve done some spring cleaning and are looking to refresh your wardrobe or add some unique treasures to your space, take part in the Vintage Crawl this weekend, April 4-6. Visit the participating local shops, stamp your card, and enter the giveaway to win prizes!
Bid one last adieu to your favorite winter farmers markets: The Wheeler Farm market ends April 13, and the downtown Salt Lake City farmers market ends April 19. What is it about a farmers market that instantly makes you feel like the main character? Is it the melodrama of the microgreens? The opportunity of a meetcute at every corner? Either way, we’ll be holding our breaths until their return in summer.
