Time always seems to fly around this time of year, but I’m doing my best to savor every moment of summer in Salt Lake. Here’s your go-to-guide for the best things to do in July.
Over 35 local artists will be selling their sticker designs at Copperhive Vintage in South Salt Lake this Sunday, July 6 from noon to 4 p.m. I can’t think of anything more wholesome and nostalgic. They even have a trading table, so you can essentially catch ‘em all!
Salt Lake’s newest cat cafe is located on 808 S. 200 E. and they got in the cutest kittens a couple months ago. The desserts are each little works of art, and I appreciate that they’re not too sweet. The space consists of two separate areas, one for the cafe and one for the cats (and the parakeet).
Wildflowers
This month is peak wildflower season in Utah. Remember to leave no trace, stay on the trails (don’t pick or step on the flowers), and be wary of rattlesnakes. You can attend the Wasatch Wildflower Festival or venture out on your own. Here are a few suggestions on where to find the best spots for wildflowers:
There’s no shortage of talented dancers in Salt Lake, so it’s no surprise that the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition is stopping here for a local qualifier. On July 11 at The Depot, sixteen dancers will go head-to-head in a freestyle battle. All ages are welcome to the show, and the audience will vote on the winner! July in Salt Lake wouldn’t be complete without Pie & Beer Day, the alt celebration to Utah’s Pioneer Day. This year, it’s taking place at Smith’s Ballpark, and the proceeds will support the Ballpark Action Team, who are working to reimagine the stadium as a community space.
