Earlier this week I asked for the best-kept secrets and hidden gems of SLC. Here’s what you, and some Reddit users, had to say:
Salt Lake Cemetery
“Turns out it’s the largest municipally owned cemetery in the country! For those of us into all things spooky, it provides a chilling backdrop for twilight walks. The park sits on quite the incline, so you’ll get a decent workout reaching its peak. From there, drink in an incomparable view of the city and wonder out loud why no filmmaker has set a scene here.” - Carlos H.
Sasa Kitchen
“Perfect Après, which is why most of their evening clientele are still in their slopes gear. They have all clearly discovered the hot and sour soup(opt for the shaved noodles!) is the ideal amount of warming heat. Why bother ever cooking when this miraculous broth exists down the street? The servers are incredibly kind as well. So tempted to not share this secret gem, but Sasa truly deserves fame with that fabulous food.” - Brittany P.
Affordable Massages
“I’ve been going to Healing Mountain Massage School off and on for 10 years and love it. They have students & licensed therapists that do the massages.” -@Flossy88
Winter Drive
“You got to do a trip out in the West Desert to the Fish Springs Wildlife Refuge, you might even get in on a bird count. It's very remote so be prepared. We like to go in January when the winter’s the coldest. It’s gravel road most of the way and you can visit the Pony Express site and pick up a few geodes on a picnic break at the quarry. You can sometimes go out there and nary see another person/vehicle.” -@utahman58
