Ah, pocket parks. Those smol little parks that you might miss if you blinked too fast. We had the pleasure of speaking with Bryant Heath of SLsees, Salt Lake City’s own Forrest Gump. In 2020, Bryant ran through every street in Salt Lake City so he’s seen his fair share of tiny baby parks. Here are his top picks:

Miller Bird Refuge and Nature Park
- Aptly named, this park is a hidden refuge. Popular with bird watchers and located alongside the Red Butte Creek.

Richard K. A. Kletting Park
- A minuscule green space located in the Avenues. Named after the famous architect who designed the Utah State Capitol building.

Faultline Park
- Near the University of Utah campus. The views are incredible and they have a placard explaining the faults of the Wasatch.

Cat Park
- Bryant’s pick for the best of the best is Joseph F. Steenblik Park (aka Cat Park) is located in the neighborhood of Rose Park. It features four feet tall cat statues in homage to the old dairy cats that would keep the rodents away at the old Steenblik Dairy.
