Looking to help a neighbor? Here are a few ways to donate your time or your gently used clothes this week.
Code Blue
Salt Lake County is looking for volunteers to help out during Code Blue nights. Code Blue is an emergency shelter site that opens when temperatures dip below 15 degrees. Shifts are between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. You must be 18 years or older to participate.
Unsheltered Movie Nights
The 2nd and 2nd Coalition is hosting another round of movie nights this week from Jan. 11-14. You can volunteer in-person at the First United Methodist Church or donate to help purchase food and supplies.
A Hey Salt Lake Reader Rec for Donating Clothes
“I am a member of the Junior League of Salt Lake City and one of our community projects is called Women Helping Women. It is a free boutique for women around the valley who are referred by one of our partner agencies, usually meaning these women are transitioning out of prison and/or rehab, escaping domestic violence, experiencing homelessness, or are just in need of a hand. We are pretty much always accepting donations for women's clothing to add to our boutique and always accepting additional partner agencies.” — Caroline K.
