October is all spooky and pumpkins and trick-or-treat (which I love), but what do you do in between all that? Here are some of the best things to check out this month.
It’s a great time to visit our state parks, especially in central and southern Utah. There’s a ton of seasonally themed events happening this month, like howling moonlight walks, painting pumpkins, and bat bonanzas.
A New York City-style gyro place recently opened in downtown Salt Lake City. You can even BYOC (bring your own chips) or choose one of their selections and they’ll load it up for you.
Every year the Natural History Museum of Utah hosts Indigenous artists from across the country to sell jewelry, pottery, textiles, and paintings. All the proceeds from sales go directly to the artists.
Like a book club for music nerds. Each month, you’ll listen to a different album and discuss it at the Salt Lake Art Museum. This month is “Ziggy Stardust” by David Bowie.
Ski Utah offers a free program for newcomers to receive four ski or snowboard lessons, along with gear rentals, clothing, and transportation. Applications will open soon!
