Best Things To Eat Right Now

Ali Vallarta | Podcast Host

“The tamales from Mi Casa Tortilleria in West Valley. The masa was so buttery, great flavor, the salsas were fab. You can even buy them to go at $23/dozen. Or a pound of fresh tortillas for $2.”

Kate Forsberg | Senior Account Executive

“Best thing I ate was Beto's carne asada street tacos. I never get sick with all my food intolerances, and the green sauce is the best. Hooray for family-owned franchises! Also, Bartolo’s steak with chimichurri is legit yum. My kid would say Blacksmith Ice Cream Co., the seasonal flavors never disappoint.”

Emily Means | Executive Producer

“Birria tacos from Los Tapatios. This is a perfect meal. It has everything: tender beef encased in a crispy tortilla, a comforting consomé to dip it in, and salsas and toppings to punch up the flavor to the next level. It's so good that my husband and I had to limit ourselves to ordering from Los Tapatios just once a month, and now we count down the days until our next birria taco.”

Molly Miloscia | Social Media Manager

“I will never be over the black-sesame-coconut banana bread by Tomodachi Bake Shoppe at Loki Coffee. I literally wake up thinking about it. For savory I'd say the karaage at Bar Nohm. Perfectly crispy outside, juicy inside, with a dipping sauce that I proceeded to dip all the rest of my food in.”

Ivana Martinez | Producer

“This year, I haven’t been able to stop gushing about Azúcar’s drinks. I tried their passionfruit coconut matcha and have been over the moon ever since. As for food, I absolutely adored the smoked salmon salad from Nomad East. I’m not usually a salad girl, but this one was perfect for summer: light, yet filling, with breadcrumbs that practically melt on your tongue.”

“ The bulgogi breakfast sandwich at Grumpy Dough was my favorite bite. Grumpy Dough is a food truck that's usually parked outside of Roots Coffee. I like that the sandwich is unique and not something that you can get at every other breakfast sandwich place in Salt Lake. It's flavorful, filling, and the perfect weekend treat.”
