The Best Ways To Move Your Body This Winter

I’m a homebody by nature, so staying active during the winter is especially challenging. But lately, exercising has given me a good excuse to get out of the house, and is a much needed boost of endorphins to combat the seasonal blues. Here are some cheap and fun ways to move your body this season.

How to Stay Active When It’s So Cold Outside

Dance, Dance, Dance

This year, I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking some dance classes.

While they’re known for their wide variety of dance classes, they also offer exercise classes like kickboxing, yoga, and conditioning.

Samba is a lively dance style of Brazilian origin. This weekend, Samba Fogo will host their annual Samba Queen & King contest. Essentially, a giant samba dance party with three days of workshops.

Make New Friends

If you’re looking for a way to meet new people and get movin’ — there’s a community group for that.

When in Doubt

Invite a friend and go for a walk around your neighborhood or join a walking club. It’s the best way to discover things you might have otherwise missed. Every week, you could explore a new neighborhood, or you can do something fun like the Whale to Wales.
