Salt Lakers love to get outside, and our restaurants and bars are no exception. That’s right, it’s patio season, y’all. Here are a few of the best places to eat, drink, and be merry — al fresco.
Finn’s Cafe
This Scandinavian cafe has a charming little patio lined with rose bushes. They get pretty busy on weekend mornings so treat yourself to a slow weekday breakfast of Norwegian waffles with lingonberries. Ikea who?
Arlo
Arlo is a neighborhood restaurant located in Capitol Hill. The patio space has a beautiful canopy covered in ivy that makes the vibe intimate and cozy. And their food always hits it out of the park.
Stoneground Italian Kitchen
What’s lovely about Stoneground Italian Kitchen is that the patio is kind of an indoor/outdoor situation. You still get the fresh air and ambiance, but it’s covered from the beating sun.
Ivy & Varley
When I eat at Ivy & Varley’s outside space I feel like a real city girl. It’s located in an alleyway, directly downtown next to the Salt Palace. Hot tip: Eat inside if it’s windy unless you don’t mind eating/drinking in a wind tunnel. 21+ only.
The Green Pig Pub
A classic SLC haunt. They’ve got karaoke, cold beer, chicken wings, and misters. What more could you ask for this summer? 21+ only.
Van Ryder
The sunset views at this rooftop bar are breathtaking. You’ll need a reservation so plan ahead! Open Tuesday-Sunday atop the new Le Meridien hotel in Downtown Salt Lake City. 21+ only.
Of course, this list is non-exhaustive because there are too many great patios to count. So tell me, what’s missing from the list?
