I can hardly believe it: We’ve reached the weekend before Halloween, Utah’s favorite holiday. Whether you’re celebrating this weekend or next, we thought we’d share a few 2024 Salt Lake City-themed ideas. Because what’s more haunting than Utah curls? 👀

💅 So Julia

Julia Reagan, that is. The Reagan Outdoor Advertising matriarch, who died this year, was commemorated on billboards across northern Utah (she’s everywhere, she’s so Julia-a-a-a-a-a). Strap a poster on yourself and recreate the legendary billboards.

🚻 Bathroom Monitor

Don a white button up shirt, some business casual slacks, and stick some toilet paper to your shoe: You’re Utah State Auditor John Dougal, the “Bathroom Monitor.”

🥤 Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

Honestly, there are so many iconic moments from the show to pull from: toilet paper on the heel (again!), box of Fruity Pebbles, saints vs. sinners, blue peacoats. Just don’t forget your dirty sodas and Utah curls.

⛷️ I Wish You Well

While the Gwyneth Paltrow ski collision trial took place in 2023, the musical adaptation “Gwyneth Goes Skiing,” ran this year in Park City and we’re still not over it. It’s just the kind of niche Utah shiz we live for.

🐋 An Oldie, But a Goodie

When in doubt, there’s nothing more iconically SLC than the 9th and 9th whale. Never forgetting about this the iconic number by Arianna Rees. Here’s a video on how she made it!

What’s your Halloween costume this year?
