September is an awkward time of the year that falls right in between the end of summer and the start of fall. But City Cast Salt Lake producer Ivana Martinez argues it’s one of the best times of the year. She rounds out her best bets for you to try this month.

When: Sept 16

Note: This year’s festival will be held at Liberty Park due to the construction.

“Say hi to Lulu the whale and grab some local art and some records!”

When: Sept. 18

“I’m so excited for this! I’ve been wanting to go to the symphony for a while. Every time you get to listen to live music, it’s a very ethereal experience. And you get to dress up, too.”

When: Sept. 22- Oct. 7

“We’re entering fall, which means scary season. Go catch a play at Pioneer Theatre Company with your friends or boo (👻). Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express will be playing.”

When: Sept 23

“It’s a magical little experience. You get to see the entire night sky lit up with these lanterns. Try not to light anyone on fire or commit arson.”

When: Friday-Saturday until they’re closed for the winter season.

“It’s nearing that time of year when sitting in your car doesn’t sound completely miserable.”
