Ever since Sidecar Doughnuts announced they’re opening in the old Spaghetti by the Bucket, I’ve been seriously craving those deep-fried treats. Luckily, Salt Lake has no shortage of amazing donut shops. Here are some of my favorites.

Though not strictly a donut shop, this was my old neighborhood bakery in Taylorsville. And while I’ve outgrown the sugar cookies, I still come back for the cinnamon twist donut — it’s melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

A young kid on an electric scooter saw me carrying this box of donuts and shouted, “Those donuts are bussin’!” Can confirm, they are! Their signature layered doughnut is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Try the coconut cream.

The Other Side Donuts helps people experiencing homelessness get back on their feet. Not only do they provide employment opportunities through the shop, but 100% of the proceeds go toward The Other Side Village, a tiny home community managed by the organization.

Eats Bakery recently opened a brick and mortar in the former Nostalgia Cafe. They serve the most delectable doughnuts with rotating flavors. My favorite was the Earl Grey orange blossom.

Go here for all the classics done well. Fresh Donuts & Deli first opened in 1999 and is the quintessential mom-and-pop donut shop. Come early and prepare to wait in line for this Salt Lake City favorite.
