We asked Hey Salt Lake readers to share their favorite ice cream and now we’re craving ice cream.

“As a transplant from The Dairy State, I don't make my ice cream choices lightly! Monkeywrench is an all-vegan establishment, they have a ton of creative flavors and (IMO) don't overprice things. Try the lavender and coffee woffee flavors together.

Blacksmith Ice Cream is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. They make it right in front of you on a cold stone by pouring on the cream, then adding ingredients, then combine it by scraping the ice cream into little ice cream rolls. I HIGHLY recommend the s'mores, it's got actual toasted marshmallows in it so you taste a subtle and addicting smoky flavor. Red raspberry is also a 10/10.

Doki Doki serves a lot more than ice cream, but I love getting their taiyaki. You can pick one of several ice cream flavors and toppings, which is then topped with a made-to-order waffle in the shape of a fish with a filling of your choice. They have some unique flavor combinations and great staff.” — Claire S.

“My family’s favorite ice place is Leatherby’s Family Creamery. They make all of their ice cream in-house. The ice cream is velvety, creamy, and so yummy! The portions you get are unbelievably huge. I have to order the kid's sundae for that reason.” — Jaime R.

“The chocolate malt ice cream by Red Button (can be found at Macy's) is the creamiest, maltiest, chocolate ice cream I have ever tasted. I usually buy three cartons at a time so I don't run out. It seems that Red Button rotates their flavors on occasion and I don't want to be left high and dry. They also make fabulous Christmas flavors like pumpkin pie, peppermint, and gingerbread that are to die for!” — Kathy S.

“Tough one! Normal, Iceberg, and Farr Better Ice Cream.” — David W.
