When you forgot to pack your lunch for school or work but you don’t want to spend a ton, enter the lunch special. Here are some of the best in Salt Lake.

Sage Market

Pick up something delicious at Sage Market in Ballpark, a family-owned Japanese grocery store. They have fresh bento boxes, sushi, and ramen for affordable prices. Get a fun treat and a drink, too, because you’re a romantic.

Krua Thai

Having lunch at Krua Thai in part inspired this lunch special segment. They have an excellent deal starting at $10.95 and it comes with a lot of food — rice, curry, protein, dumpling, salad, and an egg roll.

King Buffet

If you have time to linger longer for your lunch break, King Buffet in Taylorsville has a $12.95 lunch buffet from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. They have seafood, hibachi, a chocolate fountain, and (my personal favorite) the fried section. We’re talking cheese sticks, eggrolls, french fries, crab rangoon, onion rings — a bevy of beige!

Tacos Don Rafa

It’s hard to beat a $2 taco at the Tacos Don Rafa cart. They’ve been a State Street staple since 1998! I’m a carne asada girl, but they have pork, chicken, or vegetarian options.

Harmons

Lunch at Harmons Grocery is a classic for a reason, they have the best salad and hot bar. Again, grab yourself something sweet from the bakery section and a beverage — there’s always something new to try.

Did we miss your go-to lunch deal? Tell us about it!
