You may or may not relate to this, but sometimes I want a big juicy burger minus the meat. Enter the veggie burger. Sadly, a lot of places aren’t doing it right. Often times they’re mushy and falling apart or dry, dry, dry. Here are my recs and Hey Salt Lake reader recs of some dang good veggie burgers:
My Recs
Head to Vuture Food in the Woodbine Food Hall for your veggie burger fix. Their MO is vegan junk food. Try their steak burger or Hawaiian burger if you don’t believe that pineapple on a burger is a travesty.
I learned recently that Crown Burger sells veggie burgers that are pretty tasty. Don’t forget the fries are nothing but a vessel for the fry sauce.

Reader Recs
“This isn't in SLC, but Harp and Hound in Ogden has the best veggie burger I've ever had. I'm vegan, but even my meat-eating friends love that one!” - Michelle M.
“Cubby's black bean burger!” - Carly B.
- Hot tip: Try their rice krispie treat while you’re there. It’s salty and vanilla-y and delicious.
“Gimme the veggie burger at The Habit Burger Grill! It doesn't try to pretend it is beef, and that's just fine with me. Add some avocado for a real treat!” - Cory P.
