Where To Get Free Tax Help in Salt Lake in 2025

It’s tax season. *sigh*

The deadline to file your 2024 personal income tax return is April 15. File through the IRS website, the Utah State Tax Commission's free online filing system, or myfreetaxes.com. If you need extra help, here are some free resources.

Tax Help Utah

Tax Help Utah partners with IRS-certified volunteers to assist individuals earning $70,000 or less a year in filing their taxes. Make an appointment online or by calling 2-1-1. Limited walk-ins are available.

AARP

You don’t have to be a certain age or meet income requirements to get tax help from AARP. Find your closest partner location, and book online or call the location directly to secure an appointment.

Westminster Tax Clinic

Westminster’s VITA program provides free tax preparation to eligible residents, including low to moderate income families, veterans, and people with disabilities. Appointments are available in Salt Lake City, Park City, Coalville, and Heber City. No walk-ins are allowed at this time.
