Your Guide to December 2024 in Salt Lake

00:00:00

December is the time to be the main character, spend some wholesome time with loved ones, and to take care of yourself and your neighbors. Here are some of the best things to do this month.

A Very Hallmark Holiday

There are so many movies shot in Utah, especially holiday movies, so why not have a very Hallmark holiday. Explore Utah Valley had some ideas, including skiing or snowshoeing at Sundance Resort, seeing the Luminaria lights at Thanksgiving Point, and holding hands while ice skating at Peaks Ice Arena.

💰 For a less realistic movie experience, live like Lindsay Lohan in “Falling for Christmas.”

Sing With Maria

This “Sound of Music” sing-a-long at Broadway Centre Cinemas is an annual holiday extravaganza. This year, it’s happening on Saturday Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 with two showings on each day at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. There’s a costume contest, so dust off your lederhosen from Oktoberfest and warm up those vocal chords.

Monte

An underground restaurant concept if you want to treat yourself this month. Enjoy a fine-dining experience that highlights local ingredients with creative touches like nitrogen cream that makes your mouth smoke. Tickets are $165 each, and there’s very limited seating, so you’ll want to book early.

Giving Trees

For giving trees, you’ll usually pick an ornament off a tree that gives you a wishlist or an individual’s info, like the person’s age and likes, so you can buy presents for those in need. Here are a few around town:
