🌱 Learn Something New
Bonsai Bai Me
Discover how to manicure and nurture your own bonsai tree at Bonsai Bai Me. They have two locations in Pleasant Grove and Provo, with workshops available every day but Sunday.
Pressed Flowers
If your mom loves flowers, but gets enough bouquets, create pressed flower art together at Maivie in Millcreek.
Candle Pouring
Choose your scents and make your own custom candles at Paddywax Candle Bar. The grand opening of their Foothill location is today, May 10.
Glass Nightlights
Take a glasswork class by Chelbie Hunger Glassworks in Ogden. These workshops tend to sell out quickly, so book early. The next one is Saturday, May 18 from 3-5 p.m., where you’ll make your own fused nightlight.
🗓️ Attend an Event
Mother’s Day Pop-up
Loki Coffee is hosting a three-day extravaganza. They’ll have pop-ups from City of Industry and Bijou Étoile for last-minute gifts and jewelry.
Mother’s Day Market
If you’ve never been to Neighborhood Hive, this market (Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.) is a great excuse to check it out. They sell local goods and food items and there’s always something new to try.
🤔 When in Doubt
Let this compilation, by Deseret News columnist Meg Walter, of what mothers really want for Mother’s Day, be your guide.
- A car detail or professional home cleaning service.
- A night alone in a hotel.
- A relaxing massage.
- Nothing (as in let them be in charge of nothing, let them do nothing).
