The 40th Sundance Film Festival kicks off tomorrow and runs through Jan. 28. Will you be heading up to Park City to participate in the festivities? If so, here’s a guide of things to do in between movie screenings. Plus, listen to City Cast Salt Lake for a locals’ guide to Sundance.
Twisted Fern
Since it’s Sundance time, if you can, it’s best to get dinner reservations in advance if you’re looking to dine in. They have a solid burger, or you can try an elk steak if you’re feeling more adventurous. They have a wide selection of veggie options, too.
Hearth and Hill
Another great option for dinner (or Sunday brunch) is Hearth and Hill. Be sure to save room for the cheddar biscuits (Red Lobster, who?) and the horchata sundae.
Historic Main Street
It can be chaotic, but walking up and down Historic Main Street is the best place for people-watching. You might even spot a celeb or two. Many of the shops, cafes, and restaurants will be converted to festival sponsor activations and lounges.
Snowtubing at Woodward
If you’re in the need for speed, you can snowtube at Woodward. They have seven tubing lanes that are 1,200 feet long, and they’re open daily from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.
Snowshoe at Round Valley
If you’re looking for slower-paced fun, try snowshoeing. A lot of ski/sport shops in the area (like White Pine Touring) have snowshoes for rent. There are many beautiful trails to choose from, but Round Valley is a popular spot.
Red Flower Studios
If you’re looking to escape the cold, take a glass-blowing class at Red Flower Studios.
