Labor Day may be over, but we’re always looking forward to our next long weekend. Play tourist in downtown Salt Lake City with this neighborhood guide.
🛎️ Where To Stay
Asher Adams is located in the former Union Pacific Depot, with much of the original architecture still intact. When you step inside you feel like you’re going back in time. Be sure to take some pictures in the photo booth for the mems.
🚃 Getting around: The hotel is just steps away from the Arena TRAX station, which falls within the free fare zone (huzzah!). You can also hop on a GREENbike — take advantage of your Salt Lake City library card and get a free month of rides this September with the code CITYLIBRARY.
🍴 Dining In/Out
Start your day at Mestizo Coffeehouse, a great neighborhood spot to grab a cup of joe and get some work done. For brunch, try The Rose Establishment where you can grab something to go (I’m a fan of their chia pudding) or stop and stay a while (don’t miss the Turkish eggs).
Head back to Asher Adams to eat at their Rouser Restaurant. It makes any night feel like a special occasion. Do yourself a favor and order the Parker House rolls for the table.
Another option for dinner: Stroll over to Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana for Neapolitan style pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven. Save room for a gelato next door at Capo Gelataria Italiana.
🛍️ What To Do
If you’re feeling shoppy, hit up Pierpont Avenue. The newest shop on the block is Solvi, a scent boutique that carries niche perfumes. Next, pop over to Atelier, the cutest curated shop for handmade jewelry, home goods, and vintage clothing. Lastly, head to Handwork to stock up on yarn for your fall knitting projects.

🍸 Nightlife
There’s no shortage of things to do at night. Right across the street, the Delta Center hosts everything from hockey games to big-name concerts. Upcoming shows include Laufey, Tate McRae, and Utah-based singer Benson Boone. Or maybe a more intimate venue like The Depot or The Complex is more your speed?
For something lighthearted, catch a stand-up comedy show at Wiseguys Comedy Club. And visit Flanker, the sports club that really has it all: karaoke, sport simulator games, and even a secret saloon (with a nod to Dolly Parton).
When you’re ready for a nightcap, The Bar at Asher Adams is mere steps away and has classic cocktails and sprawling views of its stunning lobby.
