Murray (formerly known as South Cottonwood) is a suburb about eight miles south of Salt Lake City. While it has everything you’d expect from a suburban city — a big mall (Fashion Place), an Olive Garden, and a Costco — it’s also home to historic Wheeler Farm, the Murray Theater, and where my mom grew up (Murray High School class of ‘76, wya?).
Today’s neighborhood guide is brought to you by Murray City Councilmember Rosalba Dominguez. She talks about some of the best places in Murray for cheap drinks and Philly cheesesteaks:
Places To Eat
Here are a few of my family’s favorite mom-and-pop shops:
Soys Sushi - Their lunch special is fabulous and their spicy scallop roll is the best in town.
East Coast Subs - My husband's family is from Philly and the Philly cheesesteak is a staple in our home. Get the spicy sauce, it is amazing.
Tea Rose Diner - Don't get anything above a one in spice. It's spicy
Gordo's Tacos and Beer - For great street tacos and birria.
Favorite Places
Murray Park
Farmers Market
Murray Parkway
Golf Course
Jordan River Trail
Libations
Crow and the Pitcher - Try their reuben eggrolls and go on Taco Tuesday.
Ice Haus - You can bring your doggies on the patio 🐶
