Capitol Hill is home to, yes, the Utah State Capitol (who else is feeling legislative session anxiety?) — but it’s also home to charming streets and breathtaking views. Here’s how to spend a day in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill/Marmalade.
District Coffee
A cozy neighborhood coffee shop with a ton of natural light to soak in that vitamin D. They also offer tasty toasts, pastries, bagels, and breakfast burritos.
Arlo
Many know Arlo as an elevated dinner spot with an awesome patio, but did you know about their Sunday brunch? Well if you don’t know, now you know. It’s from 10 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. and they have breakfast wine.
Salt Lake Acting Company
See a show at Salt Lake Acting Company, a small professional theater. Their current show is “Radiant Vermin,” playing through Saturday, Jan. 14.
Boys & Girls Club
If you don’t already utilize the Boys & Girls Club for its many family programs and resources, consider volunteering! They’re always looking for help with meal serving, homework assistance, and fitness activities.
Handle Bar
They’ve got everything you’d want in a bar: killer local draft selections, karaoke, and a handlebar mustache-shaped pretzel. Plus, they have vegan food options.
Bonus: If you’re traveling by foot or bike, the 300 N. pedestrian bridge is arguably SLC’s best bridge.
Any more Capitol Hill/Marmalade suggestions?
