Spend a day in the neighborhood of Fairpark/Guadalupe. There’s plenty to do and see there! This guide to Fairpark/Guadalupe was written by Michelle Watts from the Fairpark Community Council.
📖 Gearn Storytelling
New to SLC, a storytelling night held each month. Storytellers are selected beforehand and stories are centered around a broad theme. The event is currently being hosted at Mountain West Hard Cider and sells out regularly.
🌯 Red Iguana 1 & 2
A classic and a staple of SLC. Lucy and her husband are involved in many community things well beyond their restaurants. And they regularly donate time, food, and resources to the betterment of the Fairpark and Salt Lake communities — also, a multi-generational establishment.
🙌 Mestizo Coffeehouse
The coffee shop is part of a youth employment group. David Galvan [co-owner and Guadalupe resident] has made the coffee shop a center for community involvement.
🌈 The Sun Trapp
Long-standing queer bar in SLC. It has changed owners and names over the years, but it is still the same good ol' bar.
☕️ Culture Coffee
Located in the heart of Fairpark, a beautiful space, not yet open (editor’s note: opening March 2!). They will have an outdoor space for events and cornhole.
💈 Salt Lake Barber Company
A place for you to get your haircut and hang out.
🏠 Fisher Mansion
SLC is working to preserve the buildings and property. There will be ramps into the river for boats, as part of the river reclamation. Currently, the Carriage House is a place for events. Fisher Brewery hosts annual events on the property.
🌉 The Jordan River and North Temple Parkway
An amazing bike ride! My personal favorite. It goes right by the Fisher Mansion and over the Archie & Lois Archuleta Bridge.
🚙 The Fairpark DMV
Another well-kept secret of the Westside. I am not sure we want you to post about this ;) We really enjoy the quick in and out and the friendly employees!
