Cafe Shambala! As their storefront says, “Mostly vegetarian food for a long life!” This cozy little establishment offers up extremely tasty Tibetan food. Don’t miss the momos or the spicy potatoes.

Blatch’s Backyard BBQ is another neighborhood treat. Spice up your life with their vegan BBQ options and delicious hot sauces.

Places To Get Outside

As an avid runner, I feel incredibly lucky to have close proximity to great street running and trails.

If you are looking for a trail to explore a little off-roading, I like to start at Ensign Peak and push up and over to City Creek (also nice, because this City Creek trail stays pretty shaded and cool, even in the summer).

Take a road run (or walk, roll, or ride) through City Creek Park and, if you are feeling ambitious, push up through City Creek Canyon.

Jump on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail at 18th Ave and Hilltop to explore some very fun trails that also drop down into Memory Grove.

Place For a Little Refresh

Consider a pedicure at Honey Nails and Spa. It’s under the Smith’s, next to the liquor store and they simply have the friendliest staff.

Places To Grab a Drink

You like wine, Cucina is here for you! Beer fans can enjoy a cold brew at Avenues Proper. And, as a cocktail fan myself, I recommend enjoying the cozy atmosphere or, on a warm day, the patio at Wildwood.

All that to say, we really need a standalone bar in the Lower Aves. Will someone make my dream come true?
