Midvale is very aptly named. It’s located smack dab in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley, making it a 20-minute drive or less from pretty much wherever you are in the county. Here’s how to spend a lovely day there.
Fun Facts
- 🛹 Midvale’s “Skateboarding Mayor” Marcus Stevenson is the city’s youngest mayor. He was elected in 2021 at age 27.
- ⛏️ In the 1870s, many people flocked here due to the booming Bingham Canyon mining industry. It was a central location and close to the rail lines.
- 🍗 Home to the Post Malone Raising Cane’s.
Stroll Down Main Street
Take a selfie in front of Vincent Drug, which was a filming location for “The Sandlot.” Although the drugstore is now closed, the iconic sign remains.
The city is revitalizing Main Street with a myriad of murals. Every year they host a mural festival in the summer called Los Muros on Main. If you’re an artist, apply to participate by April 12.
In local drama, one controversial mural caused much debate for being “pornographic.”
Eat, Drink, and Be Merry
