If you’re looking to get away for the upcoming long weekend, why not head to Moab? Arches National Park is open year round and most of the trails are, too. Plus, you’ll beat the crowds and the heat. I visited last weekend, and let me tell you, even the snow hits different when it’s powdered against the red rocks.
Moab Giants
If you or someone you know is a dino nerd, head to Moab Giants, where you can walk among life-size dinosaur figures. Don’t miss the 5D prehistoric “aquarium.” Spoiler alert: You might encounter a megalodon.
Desert Thread
Is crafting a part of your 2024 resolution? Try your hand at knitting or crocheting and peruse the yarn selection at Desert Thread. It’s such a charming shop. When I dropped by, there was a woman sitting at the window sill, knitting and gabbing with the shop owner. Talk about goals.
Moab Rock Shop
Stop by the rock shop and feel existential while sifting through fossils and gemstones of all sorts.
Thai Bella
After a full day of outdoor adventuring, Thai Bella really hits the spot. They’ve got the ultimate comfort foods of curries, fried rice, and noodles. And if you visit during the warmer season, they have lovely patio seating for dining al fresco.
What are your favorite Moab haunts?
