Having spent not much time in Utah County, whenever I think of Pleasant Grove I think of the 1998 film “Pleasantville,” starring Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon. Basically, it’s a small suburban town I know nothing about. But recently, I found a few gems that make me want to venture south.
Evermore Park
Pleasant Grove has a theme park called Evermore Park. It opened in 2012 and is a year-round Renaissance Faire. They have activities for the whole family, and they encourage everyone to dress up, though it’s not required.
Discovery Park
The rebuild of Discovery Park in 2019 was in part sponsored by doTERRA, which feels very Utah County. That said, this park is decked out. They have a rocket ship, volcano, and maze — hours of fun for kids.
Bonsai Bai Me
Need a date-night idea? Bonsai Bai Me is a fun activity where you’ll learn to plant, decorate, and trim your own bonsai tree.
Purple Turtle
Next, head to Purple Turtle, a much-loved Utah County establishment, for a burger and milkshake. You’ll recognize the building for its purple rooftop and the sign with a purple cartoon turtle in a chef’s hat, holding a burger.
Where’s your favorite stop in Pleasant Grove?
