Suburban kids, where you at? For those Salt Lake City dwellers who don’t drive south of 3300 S. (you know who you are), why not live a little and spend a day in the residential neighborhoods of Riverton and South Jordan:
Things To Do
Mountainview Village
Shopping malls and movies are quintessential pastimes for any suburban kid. Here you get the best of both worlds with a number of shops including Anthropologie, Nike, Old Navy (the classics), and a Cinemark movie theater (get the chicken tenders, they’re the best).
Daybreak
Sure, it’s very Stepford Wives (and allegedly full of swingers) but you can take the train! They have a library, manmade lake, pickleball courts, and fun events throughout the year. And maybe soon, the Salt Lake Bees.
Places To Eat
Taco Mania
Located across from the Walmart Supercenter in Riverton, the owners here are the sweetest and the carne asada tacos are too legit to quit. Ask for limes and load up at the condiment bar.
The Angry Korean
Get the beef bulgogi bowl. Add kimchi, spicy mayo, and sweet soy sauce. It comes with japchae (noodles) and mandoo (dumplings).
China Chefs
They’re temporarily closed but will return Dec. 28. The portions are huge so grab a few dishes to share with the whole family.
If you live in these areas, what are your favorite things to do and eat?
