I used to visit my aunt and uncle in West Jordan as a kid but never really explored the city itself. Turns out, this sprawling suburb really has it all: H Mart, a regional airport, and even a soda shop/car wash combo. Here’s what to explore on your next trip to West Jordan.
A free botanical garden and education center with plenty of shady areas to sit and daydream among the waterwise plants and flowers.
A lovely library to spend an afternoon. When I visited, the outdoor amphitheater was buzzing with kids attending a Harry Potter-themed O.W.L. Camp. If you have little ones, don’t miss the epic Wild West Jordan playground across the street.
I have a soft spot for mall food, even when it’s outside of the mall. Fun fact: This location (in the parking lot of the C-A-L Ranch) was Hot Dog on a Stick’s first ever drive thru.
A soda shop and a carwash in one? You can’t get more Utah than that. Bonus points if you sip your soda and eat your Hot Dog on a Stick while going through the carwash.
This place caught my eye because of the killer tiger graphic outside their building. They offer martial arts, HIIT, and kickboxing for the whole family.
An ice cream drive-thru serving Blue Bell, a brand of ice cream predominantly sold in the south. If you’re not allergic to nuts, try the moo-llenium crunch (vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel chunks, roasted pecans, almonds, and walnuts).
