Salt Lakers, hear me out: Take a day trip to Pleasant Grove. Nestled at the base of Mount Timpanogos, this underrated Utah County city serves up small-town charm with more to explore than maybe you’d expect.

Don’t call it a cronut, their signature layered doughnut is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Originating in Evansville, Indiana in 2019, they’ve since expanded nationwide. Try the coconut cream.

It’s the 104th year of Pleasant Grove’s Strawberry Days, Utah’s longest running festival! Starting this Saturday, June 14 until June 22, enjoy myriad festivities, including a carnival, rodeo, parade, and, of course, fresh strawberries.

A sandwich pop-up operating out of the back of a truck, parked in a yard. Each week is a different sando with inventive flavor combos. They usually drop on Thursdays for a Saturday pick up, and they sell out fast, so act quick!

When you want something a little more special than grocery store flowers, head to the Utah Flower Market. Normally only accessible to florists, they open to the public on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon.

Bringing a taste of Hawaii to Pleasant Grove. Come for the budda rolls (Hawaiian butter rolls), stay for the loco moco.
